What we do at St Sampson’s
for our Parish:
St Sampson’s Church offers a place for prayer and/or quiet reflection to all members of the Parish, 9am to 5pm, every day of the week. We also, through the share, make it possible for the Parish to have a full-time Rector who is able to lead many funerals, weddings and baptisms for members of the Parish whether or not they are regulars at church, supporting this ministry also means we are able to offer a number of regular services each Sunday catering to the spiritual needs of the Parish.
Our payment of the share also supports the work of the Deanery of Guernsey and contributes towards the church’s charitable work at home and over-seas.
Through the School Halls we also provide a meeting place for several community non-profit making groups, including: Guernsey Museums for teaching of Traditional Guernsey Culture and Dolls House Club. For these groups, we keep the cost to a minimum since they provide education and development for the local community.
We are also able to give a lower rate to Kinder, providing high quality nursery care to the people of the Parish of St Sampson, at an affordable price.
Rainbows & Brownies are supported by the Church and use the facilities free of charge.
As a church we also offer several groups which connect people in the Parish, these groups include: Community Coffee Mornings, Toddler group, Craft Angels, Fill our Cup which provides social support, large fundraising events to benefit both local and overseas charities such as Leprosy Mission, Tumaini Fund and our yearly Shoebox Collection helping deprived children overseas.
